Nexon announced the first Closed Beta Test (CBT) of upcoming Counter-Strike Online 2, the successor to Counter-Strike Online, which has been developed for Asia.
Nexon Korea and Valve Corporation have got a long history having worked together on an online version for Asia of Counter-Strike Online and are now about to finalize its successor, Counter-Strike Online 2, which is more or less based on the original source engine, but comes with enhancements. The teaser site is up and the first CBT is announced for August 2nd.
Counter-Strike Online 2 will offer enhanced graphics, more realistic gameplay and powerful impact sensations powered by an enhanced version of the Source engine. The game will also feature various game modes enhancing its original game experience with new and improved environments, weapons, equipment customization and more.
Under the terms of the agreement, Nexon Korea will develop and be the exclusive publisher of Counter-Strike Online 2 in Japan, Korea, China and other areas in Southeast Asia.
Again, we do not know, if CSO 2 is related to Valve's forthcoming commercial Counter-Strike: Global Offensive or total separate production, based solely on the source engine of the Asian f2p version Counter-Strike Online.
Nexon calls for Korean testers at the official site.
