Signup for Hawken, a free-to-play multiplayer FPS mech combat game, is now live.
Adhesive Games, a US-based independent game studio, is working hard developing their first title: Hawken, a mech FPS game, developed using the Unreal Engine. In Hawken gamers enjoy "an intense and enjoyable battle experience that captures the feeling of piloting a heavy war machine while keeping the action fast-paced and strategic".
The developer confirmed that Hawken will be a free-to-play PC game with a cash-shop where gamers can purchase greater customization and upgrades for the mechs and the weapons, and they also assured that Hawken "will not be pay to win".
Hawken will have two team game modes, as well as team deathmatch and free-for-all deathmatch.
Meteor Entertainment, the publisher of Hawken, posted on their Facebook page that 100,000 gamers enlisted in the first day to participate in the Beta. Hawken is set for an official release on 12/12/12. Signup for the beta here at the official site and find out more on the developer blog.
